Craig Caudill

Author, Extreme Wilderness Survival, Ultimate Wilderness Gear, Essential Wilderness Navigation

Craig Caudill began his outdoor experiences while growing up hunting, fishing, and playing in the woods of Kentucky. For over four decades he has actively pursued experiential knowledge of all things related to awareness, safety and survival in the outdoors.

He has studied and trained in primitive skills, as well as modern methods to successfully challenge himself in the outdoors. This included two 30-day solo trips alone into the wilderness with nothing but a knife. Craig is pleased and honored to have the opportunity to teach a diverse group of students.

He regularly teaches corporate, government agencies and the public sector in these methods as a means of safety and team building. He is an avid tracker and has taught various law-enforcement agencies on the federal, state, and local level as well as and search-and-rescue team in the science of man-tracking. He has led survival and wilderness navigation courses for wildlife and biology students from 14 different universities in the southeast. He has been featured on Public Education Television for the shows Kentucky Afield, Kentucky Life, and Tim Farmer's Country Kitchen. He is regularly interviewed on local news segments to share safety and survival skills. He is the author of the books Extreme Wilderness Survival, Ultimate Wilderness Gear and co-author of Essential Wilderness Navigation.

His other written work has been featured in Self-Reliance Illustrated, Wilderness Way, American Frontiersman, and American Survival Guide, Backwoods Self-Reliance magazines. He has a very active blog and also guest blogs for Dan’s Depot, Omega Gear, Joel Lambert, Survival Life, Knowledge Weighs Nothing, How To Do Stuff, Family Protection Association, and American Gun Association. He has a weekly newspaper column for his hometown newspaper, The Winchester Sun. He has an active Youtube channel in which he provides education on all things outdoors. Craig is forever a student and therefore continues to train and grow in his own skill set.
